Conceptually, Yom Kippur is probably the most difficult Jewish holiday about which to teach children. Unlike other holidays, Yom Kippur is a day for adults. However, when done in a developmentally appropriate way, young children can understand the nature of this holy day and learn valuable lessons from it.
